Overview
Three style directions for a club leader training series for UQU Clubs & Societies: sixteen videos, one topic each. Each direction is a five-page A4 document covering the idea, how the videos would be made, the design system and the anatomy of a single video.
Challenge
Training videos for student club executives compete with everything else on a phone. The series had to teach practical jobs, like finding sponsors and getting agreements in writing, in a form people would watch to the end, and it had to look like UQU's own Clubs & Societies brand.
Solution
Three answers to the same brief. Full bleed puts the Clubs & Societies poster style into motion: flat colour, bold type, cuts on the beat. On screen teaches inside rebuilt versions of the tools club execs use, such as Canva, Instagram and Gmail. Ibis & Co. hands the series to a flat-vector ibis who makes each mistake first and is then put right.
Process
- 01
Brief
Worked from UQU's brand guidelines and set one structure for every video: cold open, title card, teaching body, recap and next step.
- 02
Directions
Developed three distinct looks on the same Clubs & Societies palette.
- 03
Anatomy
Drew the title card, a teaching beat and the end card for each direction, with notes on music and voice.
- 04
Documents
Set each direction as a five-page A4 PDF, so the three could be compared side by side.
